A cautionary tale of poetic justice

I found this just now on ARS, posted by Just Truman:

Cult founder L. Ron Hubbard had flashes of genuine brilliance, but always skewed towards an illegitimate purpose. Ultimately this deeply flawed human being’s main gift was as a charismatic  sociopath, a con man, bent on amassing personal wealth and perverse dominion over his adoring victims. It was quite deliberate.

He claims to have developed a so-called “Bridge to Total Freedom” that would more accurately be described as a one-way road to Hell. It was mostly a repackaged mishmash of older ‘technologies’ including hypnosis, slavery, tribal instinct, guilt, fear, extortion and blackmail… under a tantalizing veneer of truth.

In the end he was reduced to a human travesty, incapable of maintaining even a semblance of self reliance, physical health, hygiene, or sanity. He had to be, literally, hidden from public view.

He died a dirty, lonely, drugged yet raving lunatic surrounded only by those sycophants debased enough to speed him on his way to a premature death so as to grab his money and what was left of his power. Truly and deeply pathetic.

Now his most ardent and successful protege, David Miscavige, is rapidly descending along the same criminal route into the same dark place. Such is the ‘Bridge’.

THAT is how Scientology works!

How to make Scientologists blow

A poster on EpicAnon has a lengthy post worth reading that helps make Scientologists blow their orgs and leave the cult.  It’s a primer on how to speak with a Scilon and get them listening to you by using the tech against them.

In order to communicate properly with an individual you must first find something you can agree upon. Once you agree upon something, you should then begin to find something about that person you desire, admire or just generally like. Raising your ’state of affinity’ about another person is what enables a communication to be well-received and continuously established [doesn’t this shit sound like a manual on how to make friends if you were a robot?]

So basically, find something about a Scientologist you both can agree on [drugging of children is a good start] once you state this, they may realize you have a similar reality [if they don’t point it out] and then begin to search for something you admire/like/respect about that person [and state it for the hell of it]. I generally tell them that I admire anyone who is willing to dedicate their lives to a cause that is worthwhile [whether I agree with it or not] and that usually gets me in the door with them. From there, you can really begin to discuss things with them.

tl;dr: it’s worth the read.

Chilling Effects on XenuTV

Chilling Effects, the online censorship information site, has an article chronicling the removal and eventual reinstatement of XenuTV on Youtube.

It appears, however, that YouTube determined that the two Viacom notices (Feb. 2, 2007, and Jan. 15, 2008) levied against Mr. Bunker’s XenuTV account marked him as a “repeat infringer.” Therefore, to maintain safe-harbor eligibility, YouTube felt compelled to terminate the second account, XenuTV1, upon recognizing that it was the same individual. Notwithstanding a complete absence of copyright claims against the XenuTV1 account, YouTube apparently concluded the risks of continuing to host the marked “repeat infringer” were too great….

Mr. Bunker’s story concludes successfully, however, thanks in part to Viacom’s good sense. YouTube invited Mr. Bunker to file counter-notifications for the Viacom clips, and he did so in mid-May, asserting that the “mistake or misidentification of the material” was in not recognizing its use as fair. Viacom’s acceptance of the counter-notifications allowed YouTube to remove the “infringer” stain from Mr. Bunker’s account….

Fair Game article in Pravda

Robert (Son of Boris) Korczak wrote an article for the Russian publication Pravda about his father’s experience with Scientology, both from his days in the CIA to being Fair Gamed today.

On April 20, 2008 Boris posted a video which detailed some of his work in the C.I.A but primarily focused on his Scientologist Case Officer who was desperate to recruit him into Scientology.

Ironically enough, or maybe not so ironically, Korczak’s case officer was attempting to recruit Korczak during the same period of time that the Church of Scientology was being prosecuted for “Operation Snow White”, which was the largest infiltration of the U.S. Government to date.

Is it just coincidence that Korczak’s case officer just happened to be a Scientologist, in a very high position of power, at the same time that Scientology was infiltrating the Government in an attempt to destroy “negative” paperwork about the Church?

Sea Arrrgh media blitz

It’s June, and Operation Sea Arrrgh is less than 10 days away.  Fox News:

Cruise Wear: It’s a weird coincidence that Tom Cruise’s last name sort of fits with Scientology’s upper echelon group called Sea Orgs. It’s a scary level of achievement, according to former sect members Jason Beghe and Jenna Miscavige, whose uncle David is the group’s leader and Cruise’s best pal. Now comes a press release from Anonymous, the group that’s fighting Scientology on the Web. They’re launching a program called Sea Arrrgh on June 14 to “raise public awareness of what they consider to be the scurrilous and black-hearted activities of the Church of Scientology.” You can read all about it at www.seaarrrgh.com, www.whyweprotest.net, www.enturbulation.org and www.youfoundthecard.com.

Radar Online:

Scarier than the [billion-year] lifelong (many times over) commitment is the fact that the MV Freewinds, the massive Scientology-owned cruise ship-cum-Sea Org training center on which Tom Cruise completely lost his mind while celebrating his 40th birthday, was sealed by Caribbean authorities in April after it was alleged that the captain hid the presence of cancer-causing blue asbestos in the ventilation system while workers tried to refurbish the vessel. Anchors away!

Prepare your booty for Saturday June 14th.

I’ve been enjoying my shipment of Paxil from Marcab, so I’ve been away. However, check out a neat thing about this old but recently leaked photo of Hubbard aboard the Apollo:

OT6 Scientologist discusses Body Thetans

Body Thetans, the souls of executed aliens that are attached to our bodies today, is a doctrine in the high levels of Scientology that is denied to the public and to Scientologists who have not reached the appropriate level.

Here is a “Grampa John”, a beloved Scientologist at the Hollywood Centre, confirming his belief in Body Thetans.

Anonymous

Some people allege that there is a doctrine about, let’s say, Body Thetans.

John

Uh-huh.

Anonymous

Um, that it’s not introduced until there has been a whole lot of prior auditing.

John

Correct.

Anonymous

Now is it possible that, because of the [unintelligible], at that point when that’s introduced that people are a little more suggestible and maybe that they’re confusing their imagination with what their perceiving?

John

I’m not quite sure if I understand the question, are you asking should it be– can it be introduced earlier?

Anonymous

No, I’m saying do you think that it is imaginary or real, are there really Body Thetans in peoples’ bodies, have you experienced that it is true?

John

Oh yeah. Absolutely.

Anonymous

So,like in my way of thinking, everyone’s responsible for their own experience, their own body. If you bump your arm and it hurts, it’s probably hurts because you bumped your arm. It doesn’t hurt because there’s an entity in there.  So do you guys generally believe there are entities in your bodies?  [unintelligible]?

John

That is something– everyone has to find out what’s real for them.  But to answer your first question, yes, if you bump your arm or your leg, you’ve bumped your arm or your leg.  Okay?  It’s not something else going on.  There are other things that other entities and things, or mental image pictures that you read about in Dianetics, they have an affect on the being.  They can affect the body or they can affect you.  So those kind of things can occur, but again if it isn’t real, true for you, it’s not true.  You have to find something that’s real to you.
